Comments
We usually have the comments feature disabled for all posts, courses, products etc. However when visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your e-mail address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Newsletter Sign-up Form
We keep the following data provided by people who sign up to the newsletter: first name, last name and email address. It helps us to send the newsletter to you and personalise the greeting. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by using the unsubscribe link on the bottom of the newsletter or by emailing our data protection officer Nicky Orr (madeinelonline@gmail.com). We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics about email opening and clicks using industry-standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.
Booking forms
We use Bookly and Modern Events Calendar to handle our bookings online. If you would like a copy of any data about you held by these systems please contact our GDPR/Privacy Officer: madeinelonline@gmail.com .

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
